Kan-Kan Cinema

From the moment I walked into the lobby of the Kan-Kan Cinema in Indianapolis I knew I was someplace special. This independent theater, which is affiliated with the non-profit Indianapolis Film Project., opened in 2021 with four screens and a full-service restaurant in the lobby.

Visiting the Kan-Kan was one of my favorite theater experiences of 2025. But the theater itself was a real standout as the cloth plush rocker was my favorite theater seat of the year and made for an immensely comfortable movie-going experience. If you are ever in Indianapolis, definitely visit the Kan-Kan. I can’t wait to get back to Indianapolis to go back.
